Here's the problem - the game probably counts 2 enchantments as also satisfying the criteria for 1 enchantment. in other words, having 2 enchantments on you would trigger the "when affected by 1 enchantment" criteria AND the requirement for "when affected by 2 enchantments"

The current insignia conveys the stacking action perfectly. How you'd like it written would lead people to believe they're receiving +50 armor (not the intended +20 armor) for 4 enchantments because of how Anet writes everything else.

Why aren't you also complaining about Minion Master's, Anchorite's, Undertaker's, Prodigy's, and Shaman's?

The way it's written right now is ambiguous. People have found a number of descriptions to be that way.
It should have just said +5 AL for each enchantment on you, max (20 AL).

I think that they stack;

1 enchantment = +5 armor
2 enchantments = +10 armor

and so on...

and yea, it should have always been "add 5 armor for each enchantment on you"
